Important Safety Guidelines
Please read these safety instructions carefully before using your Avelora Apex Water Flosser.
Before First Use
Consult your dentist before use if you:
- Have gum disease or periodontal issues
- Have recently had oral surgery or dental procedures
- Have any concerns about using oral health devices
If you experience persistent bleeding, pain, or oral health issues, discontinue use and consult a dental professional.
The Avelora Apex should be safe for veneers, crowns, bridges, and most types of dental work. If you have any concerns, consult your dentist before first use.
Safe Usage Instructions
Always:
- Use lukewarm or cool water only (never hot water)
- Start with the lowest pressure settings if you have sensitive gums or are a first-time user
- Keep the tip in your mouth before turning on the device to prevent splashing
- Lean over the sink with your mouth slightly open to allow water to drain
- Stop immediately if you experience pain, excessive bleeding, or discomfort
- Supervise children (8+) during use
- Use your own tip for hygiene reasons (do not share with others)
Never:
- Use hot water as it may damage the device and cause discomfort
- Point the water stream at your eyes, ears, nose, or any sensitive areas
- Use the device if it appears damaged or is malfunctioning
- Charge the device whilst wet
- Use harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners on any part of the device
- Attempt to repair or modify the device yourself
Age Restrictions
- Suitable for adults and children aged 8 and over
- Children should only use the device under direct adult supervision
- Always use the lowest 1-3 pressure modes for children
Electrical Safety
- Only use the charging cable provided with the device
- Keep the charging port completely dry when charging
- Do not charge the device with wet hands
- Unplug immediately if you notice any unusual smells, sounds, or excessive heat
Product Care & Maintenance
After Each Use:
- Rinse the tip thoroughly under running water
- Empty all water from the tank
- Shake the device gently to remove excess water
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth
- Store in a cool, dry place with the tank detached to allow proper drying
Regular Maintenance:
- Rinse the tips and water tank after every use and allow to dry
- Clean the tips and water tank regularly with mild soap and warm water, then rinse thoroughly
- Inspect the device regularly for any signs of damage
Storage:
- Store at room temperature in a dry location
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat
- Keep away from sharp objects that might damage the water tank
- Ensure the device is completely dry before storing
Not Suitable For
This device is not intended for use:
- Immediately following oral surgery (consult your dentist about when to resume)
- During acute gum inflammation or infection without dental advice
- By individuals who cannot safely manage water in their mouth
- For cleaning anything other than teeth and gums
Medical Considerations
Stop using immediately and consult a dentist if you experience:
- Persistent bleeding that doesn't stop after a few uses
- Increased tooth sensitivity
- Pain or discomfort during or after use
- Any unusual symptoms in your mouth or gums
Device Limitations
- This device is intended for oral hygiene and does not replace regular dental check-ups
- Water flossing complements but does not replace tooth brushing
- Results may vary depending on individual oral health conditions
- Always follow your dentist's specific recommendations for your oral care routine
Disposal
When the device reaches the end of its life:
- Do not dispose of in regular household waste
- Take to a designated electronics recycling centre
- Remove and dispose of any remaining water before recycling
- Check your local council website for electronics recycling locations
